Positive Energy USA had a naming problem—not only did their name sound more like a yoga studio than an energy-efficiency SaaS company, but it infringed on someone else’s trademark. Working with their founders and acting CMO, I created a new name for the company, and was then asked to build a team and oversee the creation of a brand identity, a company website, a suite of paper and online sales and marketing materials, a tradeshow exhibition, a series of client testimonials, critical recruiting and HR materials, and brand environments in the form of new company premises in Virginia, San Francisco, and London. Following its IPO, Opower was acquired by Oracle.
